The
nature of the British Peanut Council's activities is such that it has
a very broad membership of manufacturers, packers, producers,
importers and brokers, together with representatives of the shipping,
warehousing and distribution trades.
The Council has a Board of
Directors with the normal retirements by rotation and re-election
taking place annually at the AGM. Day to day activities are looked
after by the Directors via the Secretariat. There is call upon
qualified personnel for advice on technical matters. The Council's
financial year commences 1st November, and the AGM and Lunch is held
in London on a suitable day in late spring or early summer. Members
receive an Annual BPC Handbook which contains the contact information
on the current membership as well as periodic Newsletters, reporting on
trade, industry and regulatory activities.
