The
British Peanut Council was formed in 1967 and
is the only trade association in Britain to
exclusively promote and protect the interests
of the British peanut industry.
The
BPC focuses on its members' interests in the
legislative and technical fields of operation,
both in the UK and the European community. We
liaise with other organisations within the European
Community on matters of mutual interest involving
directives and regulations, which are then incorporated
into member state legislation.
The
British Peanut Council has a broad membership
of manufacturers, packers, producers, importers
and brokers, together with representatives of
the shipping, warehousing and distributive trades.
It is estimated that in excess of 90% of the
imports of peanuts into the UK are handled by
our members.
